THE BUSH KITCHEN
Location: Elkarama Lodge
Chef: Sophie Grant & Team
Client: Sophie Grant
Visual Stylist / Composition: Nick Ysenburg
We were honored to photograph The Bush Kitchen: Notes and Recipes from the Wild, a deeply personal cookbook by Sophie Grant that celebrates sustainable living, wild cooking, and the rhythms of life at El Karama Conservancy in Kenya. The book weaves together recipes, poetry, and storytelling, and our role was to visually capture this connection to land, family, and food. Working closely with Sophie, we photographed the dishes and natural surroundings in a way that reflected the book's ethos-simple, soulful, and rooted in place. This collaboration was not only a creative exchange but also a tribute to the beauty of slow, intentional living in the wild.
